NOTE:  We will be upstairs in the front of the building, not in our usual spot in the Community Room.

The theme of this year’s AGM was “Jane Austen in Paradise”. For four days that’s exactly what we experienced. You could not miss that Jane Austen was the theme after seeing Jane Austen’s silhouette projected above the entrance to the conference center. That we were in paradise was also obvious.

The conference offered exciting plenary talks, including one by Richard Knight, the great, great, great grandson of Jane’s brother Edward Austen Knight (the wealthy one). In addition, we heard many interesting talks in the breakout sessions, including two by members of our CWNY region. It was a full weekend of Jane Austen, beach, pool, and sun.
